Carmen

After the Glyndebourne Festival production of Bizet’s Carmen with Anne Sofie vonOtter as Carmen in 2002 where he sung the role of Morales, Hans is happy to sing in this opera again. This time he will be engaged with Opera Zuid for the role of Escamillo in May-June 2007. Director Calixto Bieito, conductor Daniel Raiskin.

Le Nozze di Figaro

In August 2007, Hans Voschezang will make a comeback in the role of Conte Almaviva (Le NOZZE DI FIGARO) with Arnhem Philharmonic Orchestra and its conductor Martin Sieghart in the Robeco Summer Concert series in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and also in the Concertgebouw Nijmegen, Orpheus Apeldoorn and Musis Sacrum Arnhem.

Future plans:

For the world premiere of the opera-adaptation of Arthur Japin’s stunning debut novel The Two Hearts of Kwasi Boachi, composed by the English composer Jonathan Dove, baritone Hans Voschezang will create the title-role for Opera O.T. Rotterdam in the 2007/2008 season.

Les pêcheurs de perles

For Opera Zuid Hans Voschezang will sing the role of Zurga in a new production of Les pêcheurs de perles (May 2006). Director Katja Czellnik, conductor Fabrice Bollon.

Il barbiere di Siviglia

Hans Voschezang will sing his first Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia) in January 2006. Premiere will be at the Rotterdamse Schouwburg 12 January and on tour throughout the Netherlands.

Les Nègres

In January 2004 Hans Voschezang sang successfully the role of Village in the world premiere of the opera "Les Nègres" for Opera National de Lyon. The French composer Michael Levinas created an opera in three acts on the libretto of Jean Genet. The production was directed by Stanislas Nordey, under Bernhard Kontarsky's baton.
